Major Anatoly Popov (Russian: Анатолий попов, Anatoliy Popov/Майор Анатолий Попов, Mayor Anatoliy Popov) is the top Soviet agent in North America. When the Venus Probe crashes in Wyoming, it is within his jurisdiction, and his people conduct the search for the probe, while he co-ordinates with Irina Leonova, the designer of the probe who has come from Russia to oversee the operation with him.
