John Belson is the personal assistant of Dr. Samuel Abbott. Dr. Abbott has known him for 28 years since he is involved in the Manhattan Project, in 1946, producing atomic bombs.

In "Operation Firefly", Belson works undercover for a hostile power in order to obtain the wireless laser machine developed by Dr. Abbott.
